On November 10 (November 11, JST), Atlético de Madrid won 1-0 against Mallorca in La Liga's 13th round. Mallorca’s forward, Takuma Asano, was unavailable for the match due to injury.
Fresh off a dramatic last-minute victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, Atlético made four changes to their lineup, with Koke and Giménez returning to the squad. The team dominated possession early on, but despite controlling the ball, they struggled to create clear scoring opportunities.
In the 42nd minute, Mallorca nearly took the lead when Larin’s header was on target, but Atlético's goalkeeper, Jan Oblak, made an excellent save to keep the score 0-0 at halftime.
The breakthrough came in the 61st minute when Oblak made a long throw to Giuliano Simeone, who sprinted down the field at top speed. Simeone outpaced his defenders and crossed the ball to Julián Álvarez, who scored the only goal of the match.
Atlético made four substitutions after the goal, and Mallorca had a few chances, with Richelme forcing Oblak into another save in the 64th minute. In the 85th minute, Oblak again showed his class, denying Abdón in a one-on-one situation to preserve the lead.
Atlético held on for a 1-0 victory, securing their fourth consecutive win before the international break. With this win, Atlético now has 26 points, narrowing the gap to second-placed Real Madrid (with one game in hand) to just 1 point and reducing the gap to leaders Barcelona to 7 points.
