Manchester City’s Erling Haaland who is famous for scoring goals seemed to be amazed by his own performance during his teams Champions League clinching match against Sparta Praha on Wednesday.

Despite the 5-0 score and considering their form over the past few matches, Haaland’s goal was far from ordinary. Foden scored a penalty to give Pep Guardiola’s side the lead, and City sought the second goal to extend the advantage. After the initial thirty minutes teams appeared to lose patience but in the 58th minute Haaland capitalized. Even fellow workers and the star’s fans would hardly believe that the Norwegian pop singer had a moment of glory.

Haaland, turned his back to the goal before he chipped an excellent backheel volley high into the air. The ball rolled out of the grass and gotten right into the corner of the net. Like the fans, his colleagues were left on the back foot, looking bemused as to how Haaland managed such a stunning finish.

“It was an amazing goal,” star Matheus Nunes said after the game. “I was speechless after that shot.”

While his goal on Wednesday was certainly more incredible, he had made exactly the same goal against Borussia Dortmund in this same cup two years ago.

Haaland made it worse for Sheffield United when he put City further into the lead in the 68th minute with another beautiful goal. Nunes and John Stones both scored goals to complete a remarkable evening from the team. Manchester City is now third in the Champions League groups and wants more and more silverware as Pep Guardiola aims for a second European crown.

"What can you say," Sparta Prague coach Lars Friis sighed, "he's maybe the best striker in the world. He's world class. We felt we had good hands on him but then he pops up with a goal like this."
