LeBron James, four-time NBA champion, playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, has been a frequent target of trading rumours. Carmelo Anthony, his boyhood friend and former teammate, however, recently downplayed the possibility of such a transfer saying LeBron has way too much say on his career trajectory.

In an episode of his podcast Anthony has recently shown the audience how teams come to James in regard to trades.

"There are front offices trying to see what packages they could put together. They're calling, trying to gauge interest," Anthony explained. Despite this, he firmly stated, "LeBron makes the trades. If he wants to be traded, he'll make it happen. That window is closed for now."

Pretty impressive though LeBron James has had a 20-year career in the NBA and was never traded, which is different from most of the superstars. But when trade rumors began running in the last season, James dismissed them immediately after informing everyone that he will not be traded until the trade deadline. Carmelo Anthony said the possibility of such a scenario happening this year is almost as remotely impossible.

For the record, Carmelo Anthony has in the past addressed issues surrounding the Lakers as far as trade is concerned. Anthony shared the story of a deal which would have seen him move to LA, during the time of Kobe and Pau Gasol last month when he appeared on Dwyane Wade’s show. People even asked what would have happened if Anthony had signed a deal with that historic Lakers team and the transfer never took place.
