Neymar Marks Comeback After Year Away, Lifts Al-Hilal in Asian Champions League Clash

Neymar Marks Comeback After Year Away, Lifts Al-Hilal in Asian Champions League Clash

Finally, Neymar returned to the playing eleven with great effect as Al Hilal marked a thrilling 5–4 come from behind Asian Champions League win over Al Ain of the UAE Pro League. Al-Hilal fought hard to win in what could be described as an incredible match especially to football lovers.

In the 77th minute, Al-Abdul Majeed replaced the talented 32-year-old Brazilian player, Nasser Al-Dawsari who was injured. Salem Al-Dawsari’s phenomenal treble and valuable goals by Renan Lodi and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic put Al-Hilal in a commanding 5-3 aggregate lead at the time. While the game was in the last hard stages, the interference of Neymar brought stability to the performance of the team.

In a brief counterattack in the last period of the match, Neymar was very close to increase Al-Hilal’s goal difference, however, he failed to score. Shortly after that, Soufiane Rahimi converts of a penalty kick for Al-Ain in added time to make it 4-3 insdie the hat trick.

And as their opponents did not cease to look for an equalizer, a long and a rather persisting period of added time ensued on Al-Hilal. After three rounds of the league phase, the Saudi champions were also unyielding and are at present on top of the West Asian chart. Besides their great display in the Champions League they stands out as the leader in the Saudi Pro League with 21points.

"I feel good, it's so hard. I always have a good team. But I'm so happy. I'm back," Neymar spoke with emotion.

Having torn his cruciate knee ligament during Brazil’s World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay, Neymar has been out now for a whole year. The last time the recuperation process had been a long and arduous one, and after surgery in November, things had only gotten worse.

Since the acquisition of specious signing for Paris Saint-Germain in August last year, Neymar played sparingly which was reportedly signed for £ 90 million ($A146 million). He played only five Pl games before a long break due to muscular issues that never allowed him to find regularity with Al-Hilal.
