Sasaki Calls Joining Dodgers ‘The Best Decision,’ Says L.A. Was Always the Plan

Sasaki Calls Joining Dodgers ‘The Best Decision,’ Says L.A. Was Always the Plan

On Tuesday night Sasaki attended the Lakers versus Washington Wizards game and became the main attraction at Crypto.com Arena. Right before the match began Sasaki chatted with Rui Hachimura and LeBron James who both greeted him graciously and officially welcomed him to Los Angeles.

At 23 years old he built his successful Japan career by playing four seasons for the Chiba Lotte Marines. The city grows its international talent pool because it gives both personal and global brand development opportunities unlike anywhere else.

According to Sasaki the Dodgers achieved success because they had an exceptional business structure. He saw right away that Dodgers maintain their winning approach which has driven them to victory for the past 10 years. Throughout these ten years the team won two World Series trophies through strategic planning and dedicated long-term management.

“Putting on this Dodgers uniform today, I am reminded that my journey is about to begin and it makes me feel more focused than ever,” Sasaki said, “I am deeply honored that many teams reached out to me with such enthusiasm, especially considering I haven't achieved much in Japan.”

Sasaki found it tough to make his decision to play for the Dodgers. He recognizes different audiences support or question his move to Los Angeles. He understands the special challenges his rookie year demands though he knows people disagree about his choice to play with the Dodgers.

Sasaki works hard to get ready for his baseball career which will need him to adjust to baseball's tough schedule and handle fan and press attention. He works hard to build strength and focus to handle what he faces with his promotion to the biggest league. He wants to prove he belongs with top-ranked players rather than just competing at the most challenging level.

Under MLB rules Sasaki cannot sign a professional baseball deal because he has not reached 25 years old yet. Because of international player rules he had to sign a minor league deal which shows the system's complicated regulations.

The fact that star players Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani play for the Dodgers did not sway Sasaki's decision to join the team. He made his pick for reasons broader than reconnecting with Team Japan team members.

Finding a franchise that demonstrated a thorough comprehension of Sasaki's distinct trajectory and a clear plan for overseeing his growth was crucial. It was about working with a system that could guide him through this pivotal moment into Major League Baseball, creating a strong basis for both short-term impact and long-term success, rather than just signing with a team.
