In the 11th, the Rockies took a 3-2 lead on a groundout with runners on first and third. However, the Cubs answered in the bottom half: Michael Busch tied the game with an RBI single, and Matt Shaw followed with a clutch base hit to right field, sending the home crowd into celebration.

Chris Flexen picked up the win for the Cubs (3-0), while Tyler Kinley was charged with the loss for the Rockies (0-2). With the victory, the Cubs clinched the series with one game remaining.

Suzuki, starting as the designated hitter and batting third, flew out to center in his first and third at-bats, struck out twice, and hit the crucial RBI single in the second inning.
