Stephen Curry put on a scoring clinic in the Golden State Warriors’ 121-115 win over the Orlando Magic on February 28 (JST) at Kia Center, dropping a season-high 56 points and thrilling the crowd with his signature deep three-pointers.
Curry got off to a modest start, scoring only five points in the first quarter. However, he found his rhythm in the second quarter, sinking a three-pointer with 7:49 remaining and adding a fast-break layup off a steal shortly after. He then drained a deep three from the top of the arc and followed it up with a smooth step-back triple at the 3:58 mark. The highlight of the half came just before the buzzer when he stunned the arena with a three-pointer from near his own three-point line.
Despite trailing 52-66 at halftime, Curry took over in the third quarter, scoring 22 of the Warriors’ 40 points and single-handedly outscoring Orlando’s 21-point effort in the period. His explosive play helped Golden State erase the deficit and take control of the game.
Playing 34 minutes and 18 seconds, Curry shot an impressive 12-for-19 from beyond the arc, finishing with 56 points—his highest of the season. The win extended the Warriors’ streak to five games.
This marked the 14th time Curry has scored 50 or more points in a game, bringing his career total to 24,867 points, moving him up to 26th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
