A revolutionary partnership between the Esports World Cup Foundation (“EWCF”) and the growing short-form, mobile video application, TikTok is set to revolutionalise the esports before the first Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this summer. The intention of such collaboration is to enhance fans’ experience and engage the programme on the versatile and popular TikTok platform with the great global reach.
Some of these include the deployment of a special EWC Hub on TikTok whereby the social platform will be the leading platform for all things Esports World Cup related. This hub will contain exclusive content from the event, for instance, making of videos, post-match interviews with various players and teams and the tournament’s clips. Thus, by having a collaboration with TikTok, the EWC aims to facilitate creativity and engage more people by partnering with popular TikTok influencers and coming up with fresh and engaging content.
Indeed, given the potential to offer the engaging esports experience for followers worldwide, the project seems to be a significant advancement within the attempts to increase the audience turnout and expand the popularity of esports through TikTok platform.
Several initiatives from TikTok consisting of an activity series aim at enhancing the users’ experience of the EWC. Traditional features, such as dunks and behind-the-scenes strings, extensive and groundbreaking information will appear in a new weekly live show created by TikTok, although the main idea is to allow fans to engage and remain up to date throughout the competition. This event will be streamed on TikTok LIVE to enable fans to watch live direct transmissions from the event with creators globally. This will be due to custom icons and features that can only be accessible during TikTok LIVE during the EWC, thus enhancing fan interaction as well as passion on an international level.
This cooperation’s goal is to only bring the best winning stage outcomes from the EWC and the great platform from TikTok. Thus, by having a large coverage area of audiences, they will be able to give the esports enthusiasts content and experiences you can only get from them.
“TikTok is an excellent way to authentically engage with esports communities worldwide, and enable more fans to follow and support the Esports World Cup athletes and clubs. Content creation is a key part of our strategy to grow the global esports ecosystem, and we couldn’t have asked for a better partner than TikTok to help achieve that goal,” Mohammed Alnimer, Sales Director at the Esports World Cup Foundation, emphasized the strategic partnership's potential to redefine esports engagement. "We are excited to join forces with TikTok to redefine esports content and entertainment among a broader audience.”
Mohamed Harb, Head of Partnerships at TikTok MENA, highlighted the platform's commitment to enhancing the fan experience during the Esports World Cup. "TikTok enhances the fan experience with real-time interactions and exclusive content. By continuously evolving and adapting to the needs of the e-sports community, we are helping to shape the future of gaming content and fan engagement."
