Warriors Survive Without Curry, Pacers Shock Cavs Again

Warriors Survive Without Curry, Pacers Shock Cavs Again

Warriors Overcome Curry's Injury to Take Game 1

Despite losing Stephen Curry to a left hamstring injury early in the game, the Golden State Warriors showed tenacity and fortitude in defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves 99-88 to start their second-round series. The Warriors' chances of making the playoffs were put in jeopardy when Curry left the game halfway through the second quarter, but his teammates came through.

Buddy Hield provided a breakout performance, scoring 24 points and nailing down five threes, while Draymond Green turned back the clock with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and a historic milestone: becoming the fifth-fastest player in NBA history to amass 1,000 postseason rebounds and 1,000 assists.

Golden State's defense was so dominant that they only allowed the Timberwolves to make 6 of 35 (17.2%) three-point attempts. Minnesota had one of their worst shooting halves in playoff history as they were unable to establish any rhythm, scoring just 31 points in the first half and missing all 15 of their three-point attempts before halftime.

Despite only shooting 9 of 22 from the field, Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 23 points. Although Naz Reid scored 15 points off the bench, the lack of offensive unity was costly. Curry's availability is still a big doubt, but the Warriors are already leading the series 1-0 going into Game 2.

Haliburton's Heroics Lead Pacers to 2-0 Series Lead

The Indiana Pacers defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-119 and took a 2-0 series lead after a spectacular 20-point comeback in one of the most exciting postseason finales. After falling behind by as many as 18 points in the fourth quarter, the Pacers made a ferocious comeback to turn the tide of the game.

After missing a free throw, Tyrese Haliburton collected his own rebound and made a step-back three with 1.1 seconds left, causing commotion inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse and securing the victory in spectacular fashion. Haliburton had four assists, nine rebounds, and 19 points in the end.

Aaron Nesmith and Myles Turner both contributed 23 points, and the Pacers ended the game with an 8–0 run. Indiana had remarkable calmness and vigor in the closing minutes despite their lack of players.

Cleveland's Donovan Mitchell was outstanding, scoring a playoff-career-high 48 points, but his valiant efforts were insufficient. Mitchell had an even greater task because the Cavaliers were without De'Andre Hunter, Evan Mobley, and Darius Garland, three important players. Cleveland now has a 0–2 record going home and must win Game 3.
