Ohtani Shines Through Injury as Dodgers Chase Championship Glory

In Game 4 of the World Series, Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers finally broke his hitting slump, securing a hit in the 5th inning after 13 at-bats without one. Despite battling through a left shoulder dislocation suffered in Game 2, Ohtani started as the designated hitter and contributed to the Dodgers' efforts as they seek their first championship since 2020.

The Dodgers entered the game with a chance to clinch the title, having won three consecutive games. Freddie Freeman kicked off the scoring with a two-run homer in the first inning, extending his postseason home run streak to four games and marking six straight games overall, a new MLB record. However, the Yankees turned the momentum in the third inning with a grand slam by Anthony Volpe, shifting the score to 5-2.

If the Dodgers sweep the Yankees in the World Series, it would be their first championship since 1963. After the previous day's game, Ohtani expressed optimism, saying, "The pain is gradually subsiding. During the game, I'm not really thinking about the pain," as he pushes toward his goal of a World Series title.
