Aaron Judge Shines in Postseason as Yankees Keep Winning Ugly, Moving Closer to World Series Berth

Yankees have demonstrated to the world how they can bounce back after a loss to be champions. However, the fact that an American League pennant is only two victories away is not necessarily distasteful in the least.

New York beat the Cleveland Guardians 6–3 in a hard-fought ALCS game to advance to a 2–0 series lead. On the Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium Yankees won despite poor show by their powerhouse, Gerrit Cole. Though now on the right side of the ledger, the Yankees head to Cleveland’s Progressive Field for three games where two wins will assure them a place in the World Series. Thursday is still games 3.

The Yankees gave their fair bit of tough moments in the course of Game 2, but Aaron Judge’s two-run home drive, a 414-feet monster would make Game 2 its highlight. Said a game that appeared far too close for too much of a large segment of the Yankee game, the captain and MVP came through in the clutch.

It was, in fact, unanticipated that the Guardians sensed the sort of rushed environment from the start of the game. Leading 3-0 by the second inning for New York, Cleveland did not go quietly, though the tying run was taken to the plate several times. Unfortunately, they could not convert it. In the third through fifth innings alone, the Guardians combined for eight left on base and left the bases juiced twice. Gerrit Cole started struggling to control the pitch and suffered four walks and allowed 10 Basers runners to get on base but he did not complete the fifth inning.

The New York Yankees are inching closer to kicking the Cleveland Guardians out of the American League Championship Series and Aaron Judge, a major force.

"It's been huge," Judge said of the bullpen. "Past couple of seasons, we've come to the postseason kind of patching our bullpen together. But these guys came in, they're healthy, they're feeling great. Some great performances from quite a few guys at the back end."

Facing Guardians reliever Hunter Gaddis, Judge hit the first homer of this postseason and one of the biggest, a two-run shot, a two-run rocket, to right center field. This explosion served the Yankees take a comfortable lead of 6-2, which really put a sealing hand over the game.

Only six outs stand between the Yankees and a 2-0 series lead and with the match-ups moving to Cleveland. Amazingly, Aaron Judge who moved to the postseason hitting.133, has not really been helping them get to this stage of the competition. Nevertheless, he had plates six walks, which in terms of on-base plus percentage was equal to.364.

Starter to err and allow him to reach base in the first inning of the second game, Judge sickened the tide in that second game. After probably hitting what he thought was the winning home run, a 414-foot homer to the right center field a few feet away from the Yankee’s bullpen benches, he contributed a sac fly in the second.
