As the NBA regular season enters its final stretch, teams are making their last push for playoff spots. In the Eastern Conference, two of the league’s top contenders—the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics—have already secured their place in the postseason
The Cavaliers, the first team in the league to secure a playoff spot, continue their dominance. On March 10, they faced the Milwaukee Bucks (currently 4th in the East) and showcased their elite three-point shooting. Cleveland outscored Milwaukee 57-27 from beyond the arc, securing a 112-100 victory.
This marked Cleveland’s second 14-game winning streak this season, a feat only achieved once before by the 1986 championship-winning Boston Celtics. Each win during this streak has seen the Cavaliers score at least 110 points, further cementing their status as serious contenders.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics, aiming for back-to-back titles, also clinched a playoff spot. On March 9, they ended the Los Angeles Lakers’ eight-game winning streak, securing a 111-101 victory. Jayson Tatum led the way with 40 points, while Boston’s defense effectively neutralized Luka Dončić, preventing the Lakers from finding a rhythm.
