Cavaliers Dominate East with .886 Win Rate and Second 10-Game Streak

The Cleveland Cavaliers solidified their dominance in the NBA’s Eastern Division on January 6th (Japan time), defeating the Charlotte Hornets 115-105. This victory marks their second 10-game winning streak of the season and brings their record to an astonishing 31-4, giving them a winning percentage of .886—the best in the league.

Historically, only four teams have recorded better starts in the first 35 games, including the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors, the 1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers, the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers, and the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls. Notably, all four of those teams advanced to the NBA Finals, putting the Cavaliers in elite company as they chase postseason success.

The Boston Celtics, currently second in the Eastern Division and 5.5 games behind the Cavaliers, suffered a setback against the Western Division-leading Oklahoma City Thunder, losing 105-92. Despite leading at halftime, poor three-point shooting and a strong Thunder comeback sealed their fate.
