Despite the swirling trade rumors, Damian Lillard expresses his desire to stay with the Blazers.

Since the NBA offseason began, Damian Lillard, the star player of the Trail Blazers, has been at the center of numerous trade rumors. The Miami Heat have emerged as a potential destination, particularly after their failed attempt to acquire Bradley Beal. Jimmy Butler is said to be 1ly involved in the Heat's pursuit of the seven-time All-Star, as Lillard's future with the Blazers hangs in the balance.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Damian Lillard expressed his preference for staying with the Blazers on the Pat McAfee Show, as long as the team can make meaningful upgrades to its roster.

“Damian Lillard has really left it up to Portland. He wants to be there. He wants the team to get better,” said Charania.

“They have the No. 3 pick in the draft, the No. 23 pick in the draft, they have Anfernee Simons. What can you go get in the marketplace to make this team better? And if nothing comes about, I do think Damian Lillard would have to look very hard at his future in Portland.”

According to NBA journalist Marc Stein, there are reports suggesting that the Portland Trail Blazers are open to including Anfernee Simons and their No. 3 pick in a trade package, aiming to add immediate impact players while keeping Damian Lillard as the focal point of the team. However, if the Blazers are unable to secure a favorable deal before the draft, Shams Charania indicates that the possibility of a trade could increase, with the Miami Heat being mentioned as a top contender for Lillard's potential destination.
