The highly anticipated 2025 MLB Tokyo Series will kick off in March at Tokyo Dome, with the Dodgers and Cubs set to square off in an exciting opening game. The official start times and preseason game matchups were announced on November 27 by the MLB Tokyo Series Public Relations Office.

Preseason games will be held on March 15 and March 16. On the 15th, the Hanshin Tigers will face the Cubs at 12:00 PM, followed by the Giants vs. the Dodgers at 7:00 PM. The following day, March 16, the Dodgers will play the Hanshin Tigers at noon, while the Cubs will take on the Giants at 7:00 PM. These games will feature some of Japan’s top baseball talent, including Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto for the Dodgers, and Shota Imanaga and Seiya Suzuki for the Cubs.

The main event, the official season-opening game, will take place on March 18th, with the second game scheduled for March 19th, both at 7:00 PM. These games will mark the first official MLB games in Japan since the Mariners vs. Athletics matchup in March 2019, which also served as Ichiro Suzuki’s retirement game.

Ticket sales for the event will begin on December 9th for group seats and on January 9th for the general public. The most expensive ticket, priced at 1.76 million yen, will grant access to a luxury suite that accommodates up to 10 people for the opening game.

With top MLB players, including Ohtani, Yamamoto, Suzuki, and Imanaga, participating, the 2025 MLB Tokyo Series promises to be a thrilling event for both Japanese and international baseball fans.
