Dodger Stadium Fans Queue Up Early for Shohei Ohtani and Decoy Bobblehead Giveaway

Dodger Stadium Fans Queue Up Early for Shohei Ohtani and Decoy Bobblehead Giveaway

Shohei Ohtani, who is famous for having.Decoy as his dog, appeared on the field, that was not an improvised action.

For three weeks, Ohtani focused on polishing the Dutch Kooikerhondje. Decoy also learned that he has to stand on the mound on top waiting for Ohtani to move to the position of a catcher. The concept was for Decoy to return to Ohtani following a signal and use lips to return the baseball. There was even a practice run at Dodger Stadium in this. This was not a mere trick, likely compared to a fun exercise he was performing, but a planned show of skill and coordination.

It concluded with a happy high-five because Ohtani wanted Decoy to do the move properly before Wednesday’s game. Next, this particular moment stood out in a game where Ohtani was brilliant, if not excellent as he performed a two-base and delivered a magnificent home run leading to the Dodgers’ 6-4 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Again, 53,290 fans came to the game sitting mostly in the stands, and some waited all the more to receive Ohtani-Decoy bobble head.

"I hope to buy some special snack for him." Through his interpreter, Ohtani offered his thoughts on Decoy's outstanding performance. "It's a really special night.”

At a venue that can seat more than 54,000 spectators, the Dodgers had said that the first forty thousand fans would get a special token – an item depicting Ohtani and his famous dog Decoy. Decoy also gained popularity in the last nine months and the constant release of about 2000 golden versions of the collectible only added more popularity to decoy.

The reactions from the fans were palpable. People began coming to the ballpark as early as nine o’clock in the morning. in the evening, a few hours before the match, or in other words on Wednesday, more than ten hours. The 2:30 p.m . line was so long and in such a great hurry that all the parking gates were thrown open two hours before the 7:10 p.m. commencement time.

"I was surprised when I came to the park with my family," Ohtani said. "I wasn't really aware of this situation; I thought there was some other special event going on."

The fans, they actually cheered for Ohtani to hit when he came out in defensive position during the bottom of the first. He immediately flexed on that, launching his 42nd home run while getting just a hair ahead of Corbin Burnes’ slider. Yes, they were, however, unmindful of the fact that he was not only enjoying himself, but also increasing his score, as in the third inning, he quickly got a single and successfully stole his 41st base, that is the third base. He did not stop playing in the 5 h inning as he drew his 42th stolen base and got to base again through a fielder’s choice. With this performance, he is on the way of becoming one of the most famous players in history being the first baseball one to have 50/50 season.

"I guess if it's Shohei's dog, nothing should be surprising." Dave Roberts said, "I heard that Decoy was going to throw out the first pitch, and I'm impressed that that dog was already that trained.”

Decoy was first unveiled to the public through a commercial that Ohtani presented during the MVP award event on MLB Network back in November of the previous year. Despite the tireless efforts of the Japanese media with investigating the breed of the dog in question, Ohtani announced the breed’s identity in a news conference at Dodger Stadium in December. Since then, Ohtani made sure that he displays Decoy to the public as a testimony of what happened to him. He got him a fake ID, put Decoy’s photo on his tuxedo for the All-Star Game’s red carpet event, and placed Decoy on his sneakers for the Players’ Weekend.
