SAGA2024 Kicks Off the Japan Games

Today marks the general opening ceremony of the Japan Games, formerly know as National Sports Festival, and the main competitions are finally about to begin! 

Here’s a look at the exciting matches lined up for today, October 5:

-Archery: Saga Prefecture athletes are set to compete in all events, including many Olympians participating in the men’s adult competition.
  
-Boys’ Hockey: The first round of the boys' hockey tournament kicks off, showcasing the talents of Imari Technical High School players.
  
-Boys’ Table Tennis: The first round of the boys’ table tennis league is underway.
  
-Badminton; In the adult women's second round, watch for Paris bronze medalist Matsuyama from Kumamoto Prefecture as she takes to the court.
  
-Kyudo: All Kyudo events will require participants to clear the preliminaries, adding an extra layer of excitement.

The Japan Games will take place from October 5 to October 15, 2024, in Saga Prefecture, followed by the National Sports Festival for People with Disabilities from October 26 to October 28.
