Thunder Sets Franchise Record with 15 Consecutive Wins; Rockets Edge Lakers in Tight Contest

The NBA Western Division standings continue to heat up as the Oklahoma City Thunder secured their 30th victory, achieving a franchise-record 15 consecutive wins on January 6th (Japan time). Facing the defending champions, the Boston Celtics, the Thunder displayed dominance with MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the charge, scoring a game-high 33 points. Exceptional three-point shooting by eight of the nine players contributed to their 105-92 victory, solidifying their lead in the division.

 

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets showcased resilience in a nail-biting match against the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite a strong second-half rally by the Lakers, the Rockets held their ground to win 119-115. The victory places them seven games behind the Thunder as they pursue a higher standing in the division.

 

The Lakers, led by Rui Hachimura, fell short but remain tied in winning percentage with the Dallas Mavericks (6th place) and Los Angeles Clippers (7th place). With the Western Division standings tight and competitive, the second half of the season promises intense battles for playoff positions.
