Credit Suisse and the Swiss Football Association have partnered to launch an NFT collection highlighting women's soccer, featuring digital portraits of team members.
In a collaboration to support women's football in Switzerland, Credit Suisse and the Swiss Football Association have introduced an Ethereum-based NFT collection.
According to the material on Credit Suisse's website, the NFT collection, which comprises 756 digital art portraits of members of the Swiss women's national team, will be available for purchase from July 11 to August 31. The NFTs will only be sold through the CSX app from Credit Suisse.
Daniel Gorrera, head of digital assets Switzerland at Credit Suisse, stated in a statement provided to The Block that "When we designed the offering, we consciously attempted to make it easy for the user to engage in the evolving NFT world. This project also paves the way for the innovative use of digital assets in new types of financing and servicing models. Within this space, Credit Suisse is well positioned for issuing parties that are looking for regulated partners."
With this announcement, Credit Suisse officially entered the NFT market. One month before the Swiss bank was forcibly sold to competitor UBS Group for $3.2 billion by Swiss authorities amid collapse fears in March, Credit Suisse led a $65 million Series B investment round for the Swiss business Taurus, which provides infrastructure for digital assets. Additionally, Credit Suisse's NFT marketplace on its CSX app is supported technologically by Taurus.
Credit Suisse uses Taurus-Protect and Taurus-Capital, respectively, to issue and manage the lifetime of the Swiss Football Association NFTs and store them securely. The NFTs have been set up on the Ethereum blockchain network through Taurus' infrastructure, as the announcement claims.
Swiss artist Daniela Filippelli created 756 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for Credit Suisse and the Swiss Football Association, including 11 "unique," 55 "rare," and 690 "limited" NFTs of women football team members, with prices ranging from 150 Swiss francs to 10,000 Swiss francs. The NFTs will be stored in the CSX app and payment will be accepted only in Swiss francs via a direct account debit, with additional benefits, such as signed jerseys or exclusive meet-and-greet sessions with the players, depending on the package purchased.
In a separate statement, Credit Suisse noted that every purchase "supports the promotion of women's football, with the entire net proceeds going to the national team players and selected projects to promote talented young female footballers."
Francis Ngannou has no intention of selecting between boxing and MMA; he plans to engage in both sports simultaneously.
