NBA Playoffs 2025: Knicks and Timberwolves Push to the Brink of Conference Finals After Game 4 Wins

Knicks Rally Past Celtics to Take 3–1 Lead

The New York Knicks defeated the Boston Celtics 121–113 at Madison Square Garden, overcoming a 14-point deficit in the third quarter to take a decisive 3–1 lead in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

With 39 points and 12 assists, including 26 points in the second half, Jalen Brunson led the Knicks. While OG Anunoby added 20 points despite momentarily leaving the game due to a hamstring injury, Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges each provided 23 points. With 13 offensive rebounds and a 12-point rebounding advantage over the Celtics, the Knicks controlled the boards and scored 15 second-chance points.

Jayson Tatum of the Celtics scored 42 points, but in the closing seconds he injured his right ankle, raising questions about whether he will be available for the rest of the series. In the second half, Boston's three-point shooting struggled, making only 6 of 24 tries.

Boston will host Game 5, giving the Knicks a chance to wrap up the series and make it to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years.

Timberwolves Outlast Warriors in San Francisco

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Golden State Warriors 117-110 in San Francisco to take a 3-1 lead in their Western Conference Semifinals series.

With 30 points, Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves, followed by Julius Randle with 31 points. Minnesota took control of the game after outscoring Golden State 33–25 in the third quarter to overcome a halftime deficit.

The Warriors had trouble finding offensive consistency while Stephen Curry was out by a hamstring issue. Jimmy Butler had a great game, scoring 20 points, pulling down 11 rebounds, and dishing out eight assists, but Golden State was unable to stop Minnesota's offensive run.

The Timberwolves will try to seal the series and go to the Western Conference Finals in Game 5 on May 14 in Minneapolis.

The 2025 NBA Playoffs will continue in an exciting fashion as the Knicks and Timberwolves are now only one victory away from making it to their respective conference finals.
