Yankees Stay Alive with Grand Slam in Game 4, Defeat Dodgers to Delay World Series Celebration

The Yankees played against the Dodgers in the fourth game of the World Series and came from behind to win 11-4, to keep their title dreams alive.

New York’s offense which struggled during the initial three games woke up from its slumber, as the Dodgers take a 3-1 series lead.

The Yankees came up with 11 runs on Tuesday night and managed only seven runs in the first two games. In third inning Anthony Volpe hit a grand slam to make the scores to 5-2 which was the scores which remained until the end of the match. Gleyber Torres later put the nail in the coffin with a three run homer in a five-run eighth that only intensified the fire.

The Dodgers were again ahead 2-0 as Freeman hit another two run homer in the first inning, as he has done in the World Series. Freeman looked impregnable as he produced home runs in every game in series and six consecutive games in World Series since the preceding year, 2021.

Unlike several situations in the past, the Yankees have been able to counter this campaign. New York started chasing the Dodgers’ lead in the second inning when Alex Verdugo scored a fielder’s choice run. Anthony Volpe then hit a grand slam in the third that turned the tide and gave the Yankees a 5-2 lead.

In the fifth inning that followed, Los Angeles members woke up as they scored two points to bring the tally to, 5-4. The sixth was taken over by Yankees’ catcher Austin Wells who sent a single home run to provide New York with the kind of cushion that suggested that the tide may have turned.

The Yankees then started to unleash their artillery in the eighth inning. At least someone named Aaron Judge, who has so far struggled in the playoffs, made an impact. The unanimous AL MVP candidate delivered the last punch of New York’s attack with an RBI hit — his first driven in throughout the series.

Interestingly, the Dodgers were the team that employed less pitchers than the Yankees even though the Dodgers bullpen was on Tuesday. The loss went to Daniel Hudson who as a result yielded to Anthony Volpe the grand slam.

Fans of baseball will now be focused on Wednesday night in the Bronx for the Game 5. Gerrit Cole and taking the hill for the Yankees meanwhile Jack Flaherty will be the pitcher for the Dodgers.

No team that has faced such shocks in the World Series has ever been able to come back to win the games, but the Yankees can’t surrender. ‘The team always knows when Cole is on the mound,’ Gleyber Torres added confidently.
